This page says what this site collects when you ask for a callback, why, and who gets it. In short: we ask for the least we can, only to arrange the callback you ask for. We never sell it.

Who runs this site

This site is run by Toronto Impaired Driving. It shares general information about impaired driving charges in Ontario. You can reach us by email at hello@torontoimpaireddriving.ca.

This site is not a law firm, and the people who run it don't give legal advice. Using the site or the form does not create a lawyer and client relationship. That only starts if a lawyer agrees to act for you.

Canada's private sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies to how this site handles personal information.

What the callback form asks for

Five things:

  • your first name (if you type a last name too, it is kept as your last name);
  • your phone number;
  • the courthouse written on your paper;
  • the court date on your paper, if you add it;
  • when you'd like the call (as soon as possible, morning, afternoon or evening).

That's all. The form has no box for what happened, no email field and no upload. Please don't put what happened in any field. Save it for the lawyer.

What stays in your browser

The "I was stopped on" date counter works only in your browser. The date you pick is never sent to anyone.

What goes with your request

So the lawyer's office can see where a request came from, the form also sends:

  • the page you sent it from;
  • how you found the site, for example the page you first landed on, the site or search that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link;
  • a random visit number from Google Analytics, if analytics is running.

The site keeps the "how you found us" details in your browser's storage until you send a request. They never include your name, phone number or court details.

The form also has an automatic check to stop spam. It looks at how the form was filled in, not at who you are.

Why we collect it

For one reason: to arrange the callback you asked for. We don't use your details for marketing. You won't get newsletters, offers or marketing texts.

Who receives it

  • The criminal defence lawyer your request is passed to, and the people at that lawyer's office who set up the call. Once the lawyer has it, the lawyer also handles it under the lawyer's own professional duties.
  • KremCRM, our CRM provider. It stores and delivers requests from the form for us, as a service provider. It may not use your details for anything else. Your browser sends the form's details straight to KremCRM; they aren't sent by email. KremCRM stores and processes them on Microsoft Azure servers in Israel, outside Canada.
  • Our phone service provider, if you call (647) 479-3482. Calls to this number go to our intake line, and messages left there are passed on.

We don't sell, rent or trade your details, and we don't give them to anyone for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

The site loads Google Analytics 4, from Google LLC, through Google Tag Manager. It counts the pages you view, how far you scroll, and the buttons and links you click, such as call and book a callback. It also sees how you found the site and your type of device and browser.

Before anything is sent to Google Analytics, the page address is trimmed. Only five campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content) and the gclid and fbclid codes that some ad and social links add are kept. Every other part of the address after the question mark, and everything after a # sign, is dropped.

Google Analytics never gets your name, your phone number, the courthouse you picked, your court date, the date you were stopped, or any detail about your case, your court or your health.

It sets cookies whose names start with `_ga`. They hold a random number, so repeat visits count together. Google may process this data outside Canada, for example in the United States. No advertising tags run on this site.

To block it, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a tracker blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Seeing or correcting your details

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected. If you ask for your details to be deleted, your request is reviewed as Canada's privacy law requires.

To ask, email hello@torontoimpaireddriving.ca. Tell us the first name and phone number you used, so the right request can be found.

If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this page

If the way this site handles personal information changes, this page and the "Last updated" date will change too.
